(5a)
Canticle of Isaias * Isa 12:1-7.
1. Confitébor tibi, Dómine, quóniam irátus es mihi : * convérsus est furor tuus, et consolátus es me. 1. I will give thanks to thee, O Lord, for thou wast angry with me: * thy wrath is turned away, and thou hast comforted me.
2. Ecce Deus salvátor meus, * fiduciáliter agam, et non timébo : 2. Behold, God is my saviour, * I will deal confidently, and will not fear:
3. Quia fortitúdo mea, et laus mea Dóminus, * et factus est mihi in salútem. 3. Because the Lord is my strength, and my praise, * and he is become my salvation.
4. Hauriétis aquas in gáudio de fóntibus Salvatóris : * et dicétis in die illa : Confitémini Dómino, et invocáte nomen ejus : 4. You shall draw waters with joy out of the saviour's fountains: * And you shall say in that day: Praise ye the Lord, and call upon his name:
5. Notas fácite in pópulis adinventiónes ejus : * mementóte quóniam excélsum est nomen ejus. 5. Make his works known among the people: * remember that his name is high.
6. Cantáte Dómino quóniam magnífice fecit : * annuntiáte hoc in univérsa terra. 6. Sing ye to the Lord, for he hath done great things: * shew this forth in all the earth.
7. Exsúlta, et lauda, habitátio Sion : * quia magnus in médio tui Sanctus Israel. 7. Rejoice, and praise, O thou habitation of Sion: * for great is he that is in the midst of thee the Holy One of Israel.
V. Glória Patri, et lio, * et Spitui Sancto. V. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Ghost.
R. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper, * et in sǽcula sæcurum. Amen. R. As it was in the beginning, is now, * and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
